Remember Me by Tracie Peterson – A Review

A weekend off and a great book to accompany it – perfection! This was how I spent my Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, and it was luxurious escape as Easter busyness ramps up.

We first meet Addie Bryant in the Yukon, devastated that the love of her life left the area without her. She makes a promise to wait for him, and live her days with her father. He, of course is seeking to make his fortune in a gold strike. But after his death, and only the secret raw gold nugget necklace and some dust to her name, Addie’s brothers have a different and terrible plan for her. In order to pay off some illegal debts, they sell her to a brothel to become the mistress of the owner.

Life is not kind to Addie, but she trusts God and knows He made her strong. She hatches a plan and escapes to Seattle. Fast forward to her new life, and her wonderful circle of support. The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo is getting ready and Addie is in charge of training the camera girls for the Brownie camera company.

With the workers, arrive her brothers and they have a score to settle. So too, does she discover that Isaac, her lost love is also in town. Tracey beautifully weaves danger, conniving, triumph and faith together to round out Addie’s story.

I so enjoyed this book. Most of it was read while my beloved was in a meeting, and I was settled into a lovely, comfy corner. I found myself gasping out loud at one point – enough to have those gathered check in on me!! Love it when I get that lost in the story.

I’m excited to share this with our historical/romance readers at our church library.
