Joyfully Yours expresses just how I feel about where God has placed me. Having grown up in a minister’s home, I had quality christian education modelled for me. Now that I have lived some years as the Pastor’s Wife, I have become passionate about delivering life changing christian education to our children, and empowering parents to be a very real and essential part of the nurturing of their children’s faith. I am honoured to be able to occasionally share that through conference settings, and workshops thanks to my association with David C. Cook Distributing in Canada.
This place has transformed since I started putting my thoughts out there for others to read – a scary venture sometimes, to be sure.
At times, I will share what is going on with the ministry my husband leads, and at others times, it will be things on my mind, at others – ways for families to see God in their midst through tangible encounters. And still at other times, I will post reviews of Christian literature that I am reading. Always, it will be real.
I am married to my best friend. Together we have been incredibly blessed. We travel, have fun, and live a pretty ideal life. He’s the pastor at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Nobleton, and it is a community I feel so very blessed to be a part of. North Bay is being built in HO scale in our basement. This is a hobby I am happy to cheerleader for, and am constantly amazed at his creative side.
I love to craft – all kinds of things. My craft room is full of “someday” projects, and occasionally I actually get to them. I love to let people know that someone thinks they are worth the effort – to host them in my home, or to cook for them, or even create a little something to bring a smile to their face.
I hope you enjoy the blog…as I said, it’s scary to put yourself out there for people to comment on, but it is through converstation that we learn. I marvel at God’s goodness towards me, and especially in the joy I experience in my work life. I have been very blessed to have a blending of my passions – as a Family Ministry Animator and an assistant in the bookstore at Tyndale University College and Seminary. All of it focusing on helping faith communities and families live out the call of Deuteronomy 6.
Through all of it, I know that God is definitely in this journey, and I’m looking forward to sharing what He is doing. So, comment away, and maybe we can make the path a bit better for all those we strive to serve.
